mokusla is the musical moniker of Glasgow-based, queer Irish artist Lou Rowland.
mokusla writes, produces and sings to create ethereal, dream-like tracks blending piano, soft vocals & textured synths. Her practice is vast and multi-disciplined across visual, audio & written work. Her songwriting is inspired by place, memories and personal experiences.
mokusla's debut single 'Dún Mór' was released following the Sonic Youths course at Green Door Studio, and has since caught the attention of BBC Introducing, BBC Radio Foyle & Nialler9. Each track from her debut EP 'you don't know what you're missing' was subsequently played on BBC Introducing Scotland on the lead up to mokusla's EP Launch in the Old Hairdressers, Glasgow, December 2022.
